"Good" record grading

"Good: Our lowest grade from barely listenable down to unlistenable."has this never made sense to anybody else? i always wondered why the grading scale started at "good" and not "bad"

i think they decided to call it 'good' to sell more records to little dudes.

Yeah it's stupid but would you buy a record that was graded as Bad?
Very Good is also highly with some dealers

I guess people don't really use FAIR and POOR anymore, cuz nobody wants records that fucked up, but GOOD wasn't always the worst grade!
