thnaks to a shop seling off stuff cheap, I scored a ice cheap Vestax portable and I have set it up at work! Rep your music listening options in your workplace.

    my question is, will there be more wear on your records playing them on a portable than on a regular turntable?

    on my L-shaped desk setup at work, the table top to the right of me has 2 1200's and a vestax 06. i ocassionaly let the kids come in and mess around with them, and one of our high school interns is getting pretty good. other times, the staff uses it for stress relief. i'm gonna need a new set of needles and another copy of ape breaks pretty soon. even though we spend some of our working hours messing around on them, the bosses haven't said anything as of yet, except for the ocassoinal request for us to turn the bass down.

    ah the joys of working at a non-profit... i'll see about posting a picture of it up tomorrow.
