So I was at this local hiphop show last night. Before these godawful Boston cats dropped into their set, they played a song that, as far as I can tell, was a cover of "Salt of the Earth" sped up to 45. The DJ, who was using a CDJ, had no idea who the artist was. The rappers were clueless. It had horns. That's all I know.Any help? Thanks

Rotary Connection does a version, maybe it was them.

Johnny Adams has a version on Atlantic, on 45.

    Very soulful and absolutely dope.

Hella suspect... they were some thuggy cats from Boston. Some start-a-song-four-times-like-funk-flex type cats.

But yea, thanks so far... I'm trying to hunt these down.
