I just picked up a copy of Love Sign, they got a 9 min. inst. cut called "Counts Medley" Curious to know how's their other albums?

    hmmm...The Counts you say?

Honestly, I'm not a big fan, but if you like that record you might like more of their stuff.

Most folks on here probably prefer "Jan Jan" and there's always the "What's Up Front" debate. Do a search on here and I'm sure you'll turn something up.
They were always kind of "eh" to me, but there's a few songs I like.
I think everone can agree to stay away from "Funk Pump" ("but there's BREAQXKZS though!").

    Funk Pump is ass
Jan Jan is great funk pretty much all the way through
    Love Sign is pretty nice
and I haven't seen an affordable copy of Whats up Front that counts ever (I refuse to pay over $50 for this LP)

I didn't really like "love sign".

"What's up front" is worth snagging for 50 to me, great record.

Agreed, thought that LP was kinda weak. As Guzzo said, Funk Pump is ass. What you wanna get is the What's Up Front LP or the Fabulous Counts LP, the best cuts of which are available very easily on 45.

    Fabulous Counts Jan Jan LP.

Since every time the Counts come up everybody hats
on Love Sign, let me co-sign on the initial post,
and say I like that album. It's like a funkier rip-off of The Whispers
    Planets of Life LP.

The recurrent dissing of this LP on here made me pull it out from the shelf after years of hibernation. I still like it. The title track on side 1 is a slow sleeper that I hadn't noticed before, and side 2 is still solid all the way through IMO. I'm stilling missing the 'What's Up Front' LP.

The Fabulous Counts LP sounds like a $25-40 record to me, not a $100...

I say grab the 45s, or the reish (in fact- I think my fave Fab Counts 45 isn't even on the LP, "People Get Down"?)

As far as the Counts are concerned... I too enjoy portions of Love Sign... got Whats Up Front recently for around $20 which was fine... some heaviness on there...

Speaking of The Counts, I just got my hands on 'Jan-Jan' this week. Finally.

I never got into any of their LPs, even Jan Jan. I sold all my Counts LPs and would be willing to trade Jan Jan if someone was interested.

That's retarded ... it's not even a nice copy! All I can think of is,
two dudes each putting retarded opening bids, thinking nobody
else would go that high? Shit still has 3 days left - will we see a retraction?

The extra money spent is worth the fun of being reckless.

I can understand "overspending" on an exceptional copy
of something, but setting a new high on a title for a VG+
worn out copy is just little dudin' to the max.

"lunar funk" on the flip is a heater too

Don't sleep on the Bad Smoke "Crawl Y'all" 45, which is the Counts under a different name. May also be the inspiration for the Detroit Sex Machines "Funky Crawl". At least I seem to remember hearing that somewhere. I'm drunk though, so I could be wrong.
