NYC Wednesday or Thursday night

Does anybody know of any good music events, shows or clubs to check out on wed or thur. night?And if not, is there a good site that list some of the best spots to check, im trying to maybe check out the rub, but not sure if its going on this thursday or not...... someone help a fellow strutter out whose not from the city..... late
