    this is nutz. @ 44 of a stroke. I remember trying to get his baseball card when I was a kid...

    Oh man... terrible loss. 87 was the first World Series I remember watching as a kid. Dude was definitely a hero. RIP Kirby.

    he was such a fun player, always nice to kids too. He always looked like a big teddy bear to me. I have his rookie card lying around somewhere.

    such a shame, but from all reports, he seemed to have fattened up considerably since retiring.

    When I was around eight years old, my friends swindled me out of my Kirby Puckett M.V.P. card. When I tried to get it back they accused me of being an Indian trader.

    I also knew several pets named after him. It's a Minnesota thing.
