Forgive me if this has been posted before, but here is a short film called "The Funk Hunt" that someone just sent me. It's a cool little storyline about a discofunkish underground band cutting a handful of whitelabel vinyls in '77. The film then traces the path of the whitelabels through sheisty record label execs, record dealers, DJs and producers 20 years later. I think it is a french production, but it is filmed in NY. There's a couple of cameos from Philip Lehman, Pete Rock and Buckwild a.o. in it too.
