You are looking for "lanquidity" on philly jazz.
COSIGN - But I've never heard him get Jan Hammer on a mofo.

If you like this check the Discipline 27-11 album as well, from the same sessions. Hard to find, but so worth it for tracks like 'Neptune' and 'Pan Afro'.
I would say that SPACE IS THE PLACE is more haunting keyboards than laserbeam keys.
i only know this because i just looked at it...
i don't know if i agree, the keyboard work on the title track is very atari 2600.
don't know if it's laserbeams, but it's definitely not "tepid piano jazz".
"Watusa" =
heliocentric worlds of sun ra, vol 1
space is the place (big co-sign)
atlantis
cosmos (if you want the lasers coming out the keys)
and
Space is the Place
Disco 3000
Nuclear War
Also check the Singles Collection...
No love for Cosmic Tones for Mental Therapy? Not a lot of piano at all, actually, but those echo effects are ridiculously raw power. Listen closely. Adventure Equation is one of my favorite Sun Ra cuts. I love this album so much.
Speaking of Batman...
"Originally released in 1966 as a children's record of "Batman & Robin" for Tifton Records, this Tom Wilson produced session with Sun Ra on organ [/b]features The Sensational Guitars of Dan & Dale. Includes trumpeter Jimmy Owens, trombonist Tom McIntosh, Al K"
Got it.
And I need to cop the picture disc version.
For those unfamiliar with it:
Pan Afro
Neptune
Though probably not really what the topicstarter was looking for...
Your right!
I find it to be one of the most accessable albums he has and a good introduction...I can't find an OG but "spring time again" may be my favorite Ra song
Not all the way 'out', but still far from being straight. Ra on the rocksichord.
