Mac Users: Advice on small troubleshoot

Hey guys- Just recently purchased a Powerbook G4 with 1G of memory and a 7200 rpm HD.I am running pro tools 6.9.2 with an older mbox with sessions on an external drive. I was running on an older powerbook previously- actually one of the oldest around(didn't even have an internal cd burner)The sessions i am running which most were created on the older powerbook run into alot more 9136, 9129, and 9094 buffer Underrun errors. Sometimes i am running with reason 2.5 or battery 2. i have the h/w buffer size set to 1028 samples. i also have waves plugins on the system. i tried hollering at digidesign and they gave me a bunch of run around things(update firmware, screen resolution) but nothing worked. Anyone have any work arounds? seems like the system should be able to handle this amount of work. The older one would with little or no problems.Maybe this is too much info but i figured the SS brethren might have some insight to the situation.
