Just got this......and it kills. Highly recommended.Dude was one of the greats.

    I think most of that was on the double LP "Back From The Gig" that came out in the 70s, thus have not picked up the CD yet. That is some great stuff, tho, and Booker Ervin was one of the key figures who got me hooked on jazz. How someone with such a distinctive sound and body of work is so largely unsung is a real shame.

    You are correct about the reissue. It was on one of those Lps with the plain looking cover and the "note" on the label.

    He was indeed a major voice on the tenor.

    I celebrate his entire catalogue....
