now i always put this and "the next ball game" together as two of my favorite ridiculously funky 1969 drum tracks, but i had no idea James Black played on both of them!?!? is this true? i always thought the meters backed break in the road, including ziggy modeliste, but drummerworld.com claims Black played on both.true?

yeah, thats what threw me off, but listen to the drumming on both tracks and it is pretty damn similar (and sooo fucking good)
It's Zig...

That's what Ako was trying to determine. I think most people that know about the 45 have heard that it's the Meters backing her up, but then Ako found this website that said it was another guy. He's just trying to figure out which story is true.
yeah i mean the sound is definitely meters, but since this isnt really a solo meters recording, i dont think having a different drummer (on the same par as zig i'd say) sit in is that out of the ordinary? just wondering if anybody can confirm FOR SURE if its black or modeliste?
I read the book of a CD comp this was on years ago, and it said the Meters backed her up on that single...
