USB/Firewire-MIDI cable

Anybody have any experience using one of these?For the past 10 years or so I've been using a joystick-MIDI cable and that's been working great, however, I'm thinking of upgrading to a newer computer which doesn't have a joystick port. Now, I'm sure I could install one easy enough, but I know there are also USB/Firewire-MIDI cables out there. Only concern is how reliable they are. A friend of mine started using one when USB became the standard and it seemed to cause problems with his system when playing back MIDI sequences.Anyone have a similar experience?Thanks in advance -- peas.

    i nearly guarantee you will run into problems using a usb -> midi cable if you are doing any cpu-intensive work. get a firewire one if at all possible.
