In response to my many fans who feel they would like more music and record related posts from yours truly, I am now posting about music and records and stuff.I'm listening to Anything Goes right now and I'm conflicted. On one hand, it has some funk to it, but Hubert Laws' flute seems reminiscent of light jazz a la some cheesier Bob James. Similarly, you can hear the smacking of disco creeping in, and that's always a turn off. However, for being a 1975 release, what can you expect?Ultimately, it's no Blues Farm, and I think the simplistic disco-ish drums are really a turn-off for me. However, I will say that I enjoyed the rendition of Baretta's Theme, regardless of the disco influence.
