My baby moves at midnight
Goes right on till the dawn
My woman takes me higher
My woman keeps me warm
What you doin' on your back aah
What you doin'on your back aah?
You should be dancing, yeah
Dancing, yeah
She's juicy and she's trouble
She gets it to me good
My woman gives me power
Goes right down to my blood
What you doin' on your back aah
What you doin'on your back aah?
You should be dancing, yeah
Dancing, yeah
My baby moves at midnight
Goes right on till the dawn
My woman takes me higher
My woman keeps me warm
What you doin' on your back aah
What you doin'on your back aah?
You should be dancing, yeah
Dancing, yeah
You should be dancing, yeah
You should be dancing, yeah
You should be dancing, yeah
You should be dancing, yeah
Baby, I can't figure it out Your kisses taste like honey Sweet lies don't gimme no rise Oh, oh what you're trying to do?
Livin' on your cheatin' and the pain grows inside me It's enough to leave me crying in the rain Love you forever but you're driving me insane and I'm hanging on Oh, oh, I'll win, I'll never give in
Our love has got the power Too many lovers in one lifetime ain't good for you You treat me like a vision in the night Someone there to stand behind you When your world ain't working right
I ain't no vision, I am the man who loves you inside out backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out I love no other way
What am I gonna do if we lose that fire? Wrap myself up and take me home again Too many heartaches in one lifetime ain't good for me I figure it's the love that keeps you warm
Let this moment be forever we won't ever feel the storm I ain't no vision, I am the man who loves you inside out backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out
I love no other way What am I gonna do if we lose that fire? Don't try to tell me it's all over I can't hear a word I can't hear a line No man could love you more And that's what I'm cryin' for You can't change the way I feel inside
You're the reason for my laughter and my sorrow Blow out the candle I will burn again tomorrow No man on earth can stand between my love and I And no matter how you hurt me I will love you till I die
I ain't no vision, I am the man who loves you inside out backwards and forwards with my heart hanging out I love no other way What am I gonna do if we lose that fire?
almost anything to '81, I'm right there with you....
it's this weird-ass lovely kind of thing that make them so amazing.
Fourteenth of February , eighteen ninety nine. The British ship Veronica was lost without a sign. Baa baa black sheep, you haven't any wool. Captain Richardson left himself a lonely wife in Hull.
Cherub, I lost a ship in the Baltic sea. I'm on an iceberg running free. Sitting, filing this berg to the shape of a ship; Sailing my way back to your lips. One passing ship gave word that you have moved out of your old flat. You love the Vicar more then words can say. Tell him to pray that I won't melt away. And I'll see your face again .
Odessa, How strong am I? Odessa , How time goes by.
Treasure , you know the neighbours that live next door. They haven't got their dog anymore. Freezing, sailing around in the North Atlantic. Can't seem to leave the sea anymore. I just can't understand why you just moved to Finland. You love that Vicar more then words can say. Ask him to pray that I won't melt away. And I'll see your face again.

It's the brother thing....I was listening to the Everly Brothers the other day and remarking how eerie their harmonies can be, somethings can only come from that blood tie.
I know where to end - 1975's "Jive Talkin'." That was their last good moment, otherwise I'm sticking with everything before then. No disco for me!
lol - i don't want to be too precious about it and i'm not a disco fan, but they kinda transcend the genre, no? as mentioned above, their harmonies are incredible...sets them apart in fact...no? yes!
you don't even secretly tap your foot to 'you should be dancing'?
What you doin'on your back aah? You should be dancing, yeah
No shit...i wanted to start a Bee Gees thread...and chickened out...props to AlienIverson
The last few days i have had repeat on the ipod of "Don't throw it all Away" with Andy Gibb on the main vocal and the rest of the brothers on production and back ups. Sublime
My wife and i were doing the harmonies together the other night...
Shit, i even checked the new Barbra Streisand Cd the other night cuz Barry produced it. Not quite the same unfortunately...but Babs can sing (if it is a mite cheezy).

one of my favorite songs EVAR! fuck the hatters, the Bee Gees are unfadeable
Oh, and with the possible exception of the Hollies, the best singers of the British Invasion.
Born to english parents on the isle of man, but they started their career in Redcliffe, which is truely one of the crappiest suburbs/shires in Queensland. (my home state)
i celebrate their entire catalog! "nights on broadway" has to be in my top 50 songs EVAR. folls used to clown on me for being a bee gees fan. peace, stein. . .

If memory serves, they emigrated from Queensland back to the UK in their teens to jump start their recording career. And for the record, when I refer to the British Invasion, I include groups like the Easybeats and the Rattles, basically the explosion of Beatlesque sounds worldwide.
While I sometimes found their lyrics in the early years to be a little (trying too hard to be "psychedelic" and sometimes landing in the zone of "wacky"), there's no denying the melodies, the harmonies, and the orchestration.
"Melody Fair" is my jam...as is "Woman in Love" with Babs (no homo).
What's really strange is that many karaoke joints will have a huge Bee Gees section, even shit like "First of May."

...sound pretty wild...
I like the early hits but those albums are mad inconsistent...
Seems they really hit their stride and found their sound a little later on...
Co-sign!
red.chair.fade.away.
From a psyche-pop standpoint I celebrate the entirety of the first three LPs.
"Where is the girl/I left far behind/the spicks and the specks/ of the girl/on my mind"
and for the record, "How Deep Is Your Love" is one of the most beautiful songs of EVER.
Gotta cosine on the first two (never heard "Horizontal.")
But right now I'm fucking with that '79 windblown shit.
Excellent point!
In the event of something happening to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....
There is something I would like you all to seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
It's just a photograph of someone I once knewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww....
