Speaking Strut

Been here a little while now and am still trying to decipher all the "strut talk".Things like "Raer" have made it to mainstream record geekdom, showing up on crates at Record Shows and across the Internet.Most are pretty self explanatory....but I'm sure I'm missing out on alot of the "inside info" behind the strut lingo.I do have one question....are "Finds" and "Digs" which show up constantly in threads, the same thing??? Are "Finds" records you get off ebay and/or catalogs/dealers and "Digs" things you pull right off the street???Will appreciate any Rich

    I don't distinguish much between "finds" and "digs", but strictly speaking, people tend to use the word "digs" to apply to the acquisition of records at cheaper than normal market value prices, or to refer to finding records at op shops/thrifts or yard sales (where records are always cheap). "Finds" might refer to more expensive purchases, or internet acquisitions.

    Yes. Last sighted a couple weeks ago in Greensboro NC & Raleigh NC.

    I have seen "raer" used in the title of several folders on Soulseek.

    "Funk Raer"
    "Funky Jazz Raers"
    "OST Raer"

    Etc......

    Soulstrutsplosion like whoa!

    I saw 'raer' on one of the record fair dealers boxes in nyc, philly, and allentown, pa.
    must be a strut fan.

    I've even used 'not a good look' in e-mail just yesterday.
