ok, i've made a pact to not make more than one non record related posts in one day, but today i'l make an exception as i dont want to forget this, but as most of you are older than me (i'm 26) surely one of your first exposures to the PC personal computer (ima lil wasted hence i felt the need to spell out what PC stood for though i forgot for a second), did any of you play the game Leisure Suit larry lounge of the lizards or some sheit? to me this was practically my first experience with a computer game, it was funny how in the begginning there was trivia questions u were supposed to get wrong if you were a kid, but i guess back in the day i was still a pop culture nerd and i eventually passed...or at least guessed the right guesses...
BUT GODAMNN! wasnt that shit straight out artificial intelligence? computer geeks know about "Ask Alice", but this was "Ask Alice" to the porn degree. it hilarious that i played this game as a kid and didnt understand why I died because I didn't "wear a rubber". wear a rubber what? rubber band? lmao those were funny times man. i remember all that pixelation sheit, and meeting the bum in the dark alley and collecting the clues like a sleuth like "where in the world is carmen sandiego" sheit. the level of detail in that game was insane. yeah i cleared it. like phucking 10 years later, but sheit, i like to think that i had to aquire the wisdom to do it.
nonetheless i'l end this with that computer nerd programmers are artists too. the details in leisure suit larry prove that, when u were limited to 8 bit colour sheit and could pretty much type any sheit in the world and still be interpretted when your RAM was chugging like 16 phuckn MB. YEAH THATS RIGHT 16 PHUCKN MB. or like less.
time to get outside and run someone over drinking and driving my bycycle.
oh sheit read this and go down memory lane if u played the game

leisure suit larry, i loved that game. scorched earth was my other favorite back then.
here is a topic-appropriate graemlin:
I remembed those things used to have me so stumped sometimes.
Police Quest and Kings Quest were the shit!! What about Space Quest?!?!? and I had them on a Tandy 1200. And if we got stomped my brother would head on the all-text modem boards!!!!
I actually played the first Larry a couple of years back, but kinda like watching Macgyver now, a part of the charm is lost.
RAM was still limited to 640KB (yes, KB) when I was first exposed to that game... 1992?
Loved Police Quest, Space Quest, Kings Quest... LSL didn't do much for me though...
Does anbody remember when they had the Sierra Online service? It was like... AOL + Sierra games = online service.
mos def, i felt in loved too with all the sprites as a kid.
monkey island, was one of my fav games
the pre mf doom
pleas stop saying sheit and phuck
leisure suit larry was cool too. you could put the hamster in the microwave, right? ahhhh, the memories!
one of my first computers was an AMIGA by Commodore (was that a popular computer in the US too?). There was a great game called RICK DANGEROUS. And the Gianna Sisters one...
I played the first Mario Bros. and Zelda games on the original NES. Unfortunately, my NES is broke. So are the NESs of my friends. How come they don't work anymore? millenium issues?
my first computer wasa Texas Instruments TI994A
later we got a commodore 64.. we had the tape drive, the modem everything...
STRIP POKER... that was my shit when i was like 10... show me them titties!!!
eventually we got a mac 512 and upgraded it to a +...
Dark Castle baby!!!
That's MANIAC MANSION... good shit.
If they're the front loading NES's the spring or whatever fucks up or something and they don't load right. At the end of the NES runs (after Super NES) they came out with some top-loading ones that don't have that problem.
if youre talking about the Imagination! network (known to cool kids as INN), then yes...that was fun shit! you got to design your own face and whatnot, i loved that thing...i wonder if theres still users up?
god i need to play more of that, i kinda went in reverse, i started with the sequel, Day of the Tentacle which is a great game, but within the game you can play maniac mansion...havent played it in a while but i started again on my friends NES version...
did you ever see the tv show based on the game?!(yes, the game came first) directed by eugene levy..
text gelflings.
