Yep, Hutson I is more consistent. II has some great tracks, but also a fair amount of so-so cuts (the instrumentals on side 2 which don't really go anywhere IMO).
So true especially "So in love with you" is amazing! but whole side 1 is great if the tracklist is the same on the different issues. but side two has great tracks too
Medium dude confession: I don't even like Hutson II
Not even "Don't It Make You Feel Good" and "Love The Feeling"???

well I've had 4 or 5 copies over the last couple of years and everytime I get it I spin it and realize I sdon't want to keep it. I have a feeling I may reconsider now though. I had a similar fickle-type relationship with "Closer to the Source" and now I love the LP

If you like his stuff then it would seem strange if you don't like at least these 3 tracks off the LP.
"I think I'm falling in Love" among his best tracks, but then again there's so many of those,"Love to hold you close" nice with sick drumming like no other of his tracks and "Don't it make you feel good".... those are the three standouts to me. "Love The Feeling" is nice as well.
Damn, its not like I like Hutson II better, but that's a dope album. I mean to me you can just put that on and sit back and marinate. As with the other two albums in question.

But neither are fucking with Love Oh Love.

Hutson I reigns supreme over II.

"Love to hold you close" is my #1 hutson joint, it gets no better than that.

By the way, did anyone ever hear his comeback album in the early nineties? Worth hunting down?
Does it bother anyone else that the title of his first record is Hutson, yet it is always refered to as Hutson I?
Dan
I really never realized that.
..and the hell of it is is that Love Oh Love was his real first album?
