  • Why So Quiet Around Here?

    Too many old dudes.

  • Can I get a Trump Thread?

Clinton is going to win this easily.  Trump is a creature crawling around in America's Confederate litter box, and he won't win a single state anyone with any sense wants to live in.

Speaking of which, he'll win Texas:

Because when I see a headline like that, well, I'm usually right about where it originates.

Stacks makes a gas chamber/electric chair comparison between Clinton and Trump which is way off base.  Hillary will run the country in a way much closer to Obama than to her husband.  She's not my ideal candidate but then I'd give Obama another 8 years in a heartbeat.  Best president of my lifetime, and much better than this country actually deserves.  The Fantasyland POTUS who never makes a wrong move and who too many left-wingers crave has never/will never exist.

Anyway, we're looking at a landslide of LBJ/Goldwater or Reagan/Mondale proportions.  It should be even worse, because Trump is total shit on every conceivable level, but the litter box is big and has been around a long time.

    Hard to believe this news.

RIP to one of the greatest musical talents of our time.
I am so deeply saddened by Prince's death, almost to the point of tears. I was privileged to finally see him perform live at Madison Square Garden a few years ago.  Amazing showman, indeed!!!  Prince is one of the few artists of my generation who has always left me awestruck.  If I had ever had the chance to meet the man, I probably would've been speechless.  His music was the soundtrack of my coming-of-age years.  He was a once-in-a-lifetime talent who changed music for the better.  I have so many favorites, I don't know where to begin.  Yet, I'll name "Crazy You" , a slept on classic from his debut "For You" LP.  Beautiful song (what a chord structure)!  RIP, Mr. Prince Rogers Nelson.  Your music and legacy will live on forever.

    Peace,

Let the tears flow.  I teared up, too, surprising myself.  But he was that good.

Some of the most touching tributes are coming from Minneapolis.  It's part of his uniqueness that he stuck close to home.

I'm not a Bowie fan, but I recognize that he has decades of hits and was still relevant up to the end. Fair to call him an artist.

But Glenn Frey? Eagles had an amazing string of AM hits, then he had some solo ones. But who cares? They didn't advance country rock, they took it mainstream.

The Airplane, by contrast were a ground breaking psych (or San Fran Sound) band. Kantner remained relevant into the 80s.

So why just a nod to Kantner, and loads of credit to Frey.
Not just the press, but my Facebook feed as well, from people who would never have posted up an Eagles song before he died.

At least SS and facebook acknowledged Clarence Reid's death.

I feel Joni Mitchell is under appreciated, so wont mind the hyperbole.

I hope we have Neil Young and Prince around a while longer, they are still doing good work.

Can someone find Neil and protect him from Wolf's fucking SuperCooties?
