Just watched Onibaba. Creepy, beatiful and very atmospheric japanese horror from the 60's.

I come on the Strut & get schooled about where i'm from... Yet my mothers nationality is Finnish on my birth certificate. How does that work...? Strut can change lives on so many levels. Russians occupied Viipuri in 1944. If your mother was…

My parents were from a town in Finland that no longer seems to exist. I went there looking for it, but alas no-one had heard of it. I'm now under the idea that it was a misprint or a misheard name. It says Viibiri in my records at the Aust Births D…

Here's an old pencil work way back from the 90's. It's the only one I got digitized. Damn I need to get back to drawing.

I'd never tape covers. If it's split, then it's split. Taping only reduces the value. Just put a tight-fitting plastic sleeve over the cover. Perfect look and feel. No one will ever find out your dirty secret.

Birds n' Brass Cedric Brooks Both are quite nice.

Max Roach - Percussion Bitter Sweet Kind of like a slightly toned down version of Freedom Now Suite. Still makes my face melt every time.

Real Paypal emails are always addressed to your name. That's why usually the first line already reveals the scam. If you receive an email that is addressed to some anonymous PayPal member and not to you personally, it's safe to say it's a scam.

Right now I'm really digging Michael White's-Pneuma Lp Check out Michael White on Joe Henderson's The Elements lp. Especially a track called Earth. Spacey violin over hard funky drums.

Did Columbia reissue this on one of their Moondog albums? Honest Jon's recently reissued it on 10" vinyl.

Springsteen had a song about shooting a patrolman? Don't know about that, but he did make a song about the incident in NYC where four cops shot a black kid something like 20 times because they mistook his wallet for a gun.

Axelrod - Seriously Deep Ok. The drums on the last track ain't open, but by the time you get there you have heard so many hard and open breaks that it does not matter. 1000 Rads alone must have like 1000 breaks. Also a great lp to listen to for thos…

Anybody remember that incident in rmhh when a regular posted a message saying that he was leaving the group and quitting listening to rap cos he felt that hiphop was not for the white people. A heated discussion ensued. Then after a while, the dude …

It says here "The Pompeii label from 6000 to 6005 was distributed by Atco: The number 6006 and above were not distributed by Atco." Black Man's Soul is 6003. This has made me believe that the Atco distributed yellow/green cover version came first.…

Ike Turners 'a black mans soul' on Pompeii ('electronically enhanced to stereo'). Has anyone found a mono recording of this LP? I don't think a mono version exists since it says in the back cover that only five of the tracks were recorded in mono. …

Just noticed that Amazon.com (of all places) is selling Shure M97xE for 59% off. The list price is $140 and now they're selling it for $57.99. M97xE is the best cartridge Shure is making at the moment after they discontinued the legendary V15 recen…
