Boil it for a good while, than mash it up. After mashing season with salt, pepper then form them in to little patties and fry them up. Sooo good and not as hard or fibrous as just cutting them up and frying.

I got you on a mofongo de yuca recipe when I get home tonight. Its pretty easy.
Yuca is more of a side dish than anything else. You can make yuca tostones or yuca fries, sort like what lurkalot posted. The most common thing is boiled (its like a potato so an hour and a half is overkill) served with carmelized onions.
That bear needs to put on a shirt, fuck.

    seriously! so unsanitary!

How long for roasting them in the oven - let's say pieces the size of roasted Greek potatoes?

I don't know, I've never roasted yuca. Whatever you do, season it really well or make a dip or something, yuca is very, very bland.

I kove to make Yuca Chips. Cut them thin, fry them and season with Salt, 2 different peppers (white & Cayenne), some cumin, maybe some blue mountain curry. then let i dry in the oven for about 30 minutes.
    Get a beer.
    No potato chips no more.
