font class="post"1b,121b, 21b,121This is not always the post system that's involved. I use it everyday on the other way and all my packages always arrived at destination worldwide..b,121Problem is the record scene is plagued by thieves, mostly in the 80s funk, modern soul scene.b,121b,121Strutters do something useful: why not do a database of these fuckers adresses? They can change their pseudo, but adress is more tricky..b,121b,121These guys are known in France, and watched every time they approach records for sale. It could be possible to do the same with ebay.

font class="post"1b,121b, 21You heard it here first from a real live Frenchie, Modern Soul is the devils music, it attracts, no scratchb,121that it turns listeners into social deviants!

  • Add $10 to each shipping total going to France and send the package registered mail.

Usually the problem is an excessive delay, but the package eventually turns up at the buyer's doorstep or back at my doorstep even if it's a month or two later. In the meantime, only on very few occasions have the buyers pushed for an immediate refund, which would be the first criteria for accusations of fraud. b,121b,121/font1

font class="post"1b,121b, 21When I first started selling records on ebay, I had it in my head that I was just going to sell within the U.S. to avoid any hassles. I clearly stated this in my item descriptions, yet I was still deluged with winning bids from overseas. I realized pretty quick that it's pointless to try to fight it, and, really, why would I want to? For all additional business I get from France buying sub-par modern soul, it's pretty easy to write off a few bad transactions. I'd be worse off without their business.

font class="post"1Actually our postage system is great and works perfectly both on national and international distances.b,121What you have to know is that 90% of italian collector are Jerks.b,121Those people are dodgy, they overprice everything, they always try to make extramoney exspecially out of noobs.b,121I have many of them buying on ebay (won't say the name) and asking for refunds or doin' frauds with paypal system.b,121I can assure you postage is good, they are not.b,121One thing I can suggest you when you sell to an italian, always get yourself paid via IBAN-BIC, Always go for a registered and trackable shipping.b,121b,121h,121font class="post"1b,121b, 21So, are the stories about the fickle nature of the french and italian postal services just a smokescreen spread by devious moder collectros to divert the attention?

A combination of slow and corrupt postal system and customs duty officers=trouble. b,121I think the issue with France is customs.

I've done over a thousand record transactions on eBay. Sold many a boogie and modern soul stuff and never once had trouble with the French. Maybe I attract a responsible contingent, but I wouldn't rule out the whole country based on a few bad apples.b,121b,121I did have trouble with Italy once and his name was marcofunk. I banned that idiot. Cost me $$$ but the sanity was well worth it. I still get hate letters from him to this day.b,121b, 21
