this record is really great...belongs in the ahead of their time thread

Love the record porn, but when I mouse over the image and it highlights, I think for a second there might be a secret vinyl rip to download. Then I click on it, and it's an image hosting site, not a file-transfer site.

  • how's the orient express? i believe it was one of the only psych release on mainstream. i've been meaning to buy it.

If a Mainstream psych comp doesn't exist, then it's long overdue.

Hell, Mainstream actually comped itself back in the sixties with A Pot Of Flowers.

  • took a little trip to an out of town spot on monday... got most of these there:

"Elephant's memory" came in trade - loving this album. - got the Francis Lai OST in a charity shop - very french!!! . Picked up the Springsteen LP for a quid to give to one of my doubting thomas mate's - once he sticks "rosalita" on he shall surely be a convert

havent listened to most of them yet, pleased to get my mitts on a lovely spiral of the first Patto LP for a reasonable price...

    45's are:
JONATHAN RICHMAN & MODERN LOVERS- "roadrunner"
MICHEAL JACKSON - "aint no sunshine"
ZETLAND PLAYERS - "strongmen & sailors" (promo copy of my mate's band's first vinyl release!!)
RARE EARTH - "i just wanna celebrate"

high school record with some pretty funky moments i will DEFINITELY be making into a beat soon.

the rocky fitness record has drums, but theyre pretty 80s sounding as you could imagine. probably can find a good use for them.

  • i believe it was one of the only psych release on mainstream.

i meant to say it's one of the only "really good" psych releases on mainstream, or so i've heard from others. i believe it was released at the same time as the dope electric jazz/fusion albums such as hal galper's guerrilla band, pete yellin and such. i just really love that period of jazz released on mainstream, curious if it's as good as the jazz released at that time.
