I used to love The Courtship of Eddie's Father. Looking back, I guess I saw it as art imitating life.

Hahaha. Day said Misfits of Science. I loved that show--it made me want to drive around in a kick-ass ice cream truck with my weirdo friends.

"Today's show is brought to you by the fine folks at Martin's Paint"

I loved his show.....guests ranged from off-off-off Broadway "stars" to old Burlesque performers who were now senile.

Worst lip synching in the history of TV.

And Joe never seemed to age.

Dude has got to be near 90 now!!

    Keeping this RR....

There is an LP by a Female Impersonator who used to appear on Joe's Show on the regular.....front cover shows him surrounded by Marijuana leaves....it's from the mid-late 60's. Liner notes mention appearing on Joe's show.

If anyone has this LP drop me a line and name your price.

    When!!??

This link from this year has a link to "Contact Joe" and his Wiki page makes no mention of death??

Does say he was born in 1926 though making him a spry 81 if he's still alive.

Maybe I was mourning his tv show. That was made into a big deal when it went off the air.

At one point around 1982 or so, Uncle Floyd and Joe Franklin were so big that they tried syndicating them across the country.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but they BOMBED in the Chi. It didn't help that the local station showed Franklin at like 3:00 in the morning...

Yeah...I can't imagine those shows working outside the Northeast.
