Uruguay Recommendations

A colleague of mine is visiting Uruguay with his wife soon and has offered to dig for me. I know plenty about South American records but can't think of any from Uruguay that I'm after. can anyone recommend any titles? Thanks

    mc gill clan (1969) on the orfeo label. great strange version of let the sun shine in (deja que entra el rayo del sol). there's some other cover versions like soy un hombre (i'm a man) and even better originals with much organ and acoustic guitar. there's photograph of a telephone on the cover - it's a dope record

    I dunno about Uruguayan titles. But there'll be a larger proportion of records from Brazil and Argentina. Send along a list of artists from those countries...

    I'm guessing there are some hot records in Montevideo - when I was down there three years ago it seemed fairly untapped. I only found junk but I was only in town for a day.
