Geez, I don't mean to be negative, but James Brown's work on Polydor has too much screaming on it for me. I really like Soul On Top and his earlier recordings on King. He screams on them too but it is much more like singing than his 'Mad Man Style" on Sex Machine and other Polydor records.<br /> <br /> Yeah, for James Brown the tape was never not rolling, he just got abused by the system like many other beautiful people in history.
