In other words other taxpayers are subsidizing your mortgage. You pay less in taxes because of that deduction. Subsidizing health care costs is exactly the same sort of idea. This bill will help a lot of people afford health care just like the mortgage deduction helps a lot of people (LIKE YOU) afford their house.
