I've used the M-Audio a few times and it sounds surprisingly good, though I agree the interface is kinda dumb (who makes a recording device without a friggin button?) The fact that it has balanced inputs is a huge plus in my book though. -

If you have a laptop get an MPD or an M-audio joint. Then just bang beats with Abelton Live, Reason or Acid. -
producer/musician-strut: hardware or software?Who uses strictly hardware/software or a combo of the two? I use both. Use an mpc, roland sp606, ableton 6, and reason 4 with assorted plugins.
