I heard Tommy Turrentine's "Gunga Din" on the radio and just realized that Rico Rodriguez' "Africa", on Blue Note's only reggae LP, uses the melody.

Just recently found out that Hans Zimmer was in the first music video ever played on MTV. Dude played keyboard for Video Killed the Radio Star.

and yeah, i was into boogie in 2001!  earlier tho. i was just into that sort of music on the radio growing up in the 80s, and peak debarge is a gateway to boogie.
