Why So Quiet Around Here?
Soulstrut has contributed so much to my musical adventure which is so important to my life. Endless thanks from me for the contributions of this community through the years. Why am I not checking much recently? It's the middle of summer and my work load and dance card are filled more than it should be. Combine that with myriad new medical issues and tons of visits to doctors and my time on the internet is minimal. But when I do check the internet, I do check soulstrut. I think it's cyclical. The less contributions, the less people check it. Pokemon Go is probably taking a lot of people's time these days. Lulz. I'm thinking of taking a week off work next week. I spent 10 months editing my entire MP3 collection and it's got music on my mind. I'll share some of my new perspective next week. I only say that in an effort to make me do so because I owe this community so much and believe in it existing.

Storing LPs Outside their Covers
All my records get stored in a plastic sleeve with the opening at the top of the record. The record gets put behind the cover with the opening at the top. I've heard a lot of requests from mail order buyers to pack the record outside of the jacket to avoid seam splits and ring wear. So far it's working for me. The only downside to this is not being able to see the back of the jacket easily. I also feel good that I have an extra 12" of flood protection because water would have to get into the top to affect the record. Gatefolds get the record stored in the middle of the gatefold so I can see the back of the cover and still pull the record out of the top. This system has been easy to use and relatively hassle free. Credit to mylatency for showing me this.

Torrent Strut
I'm on waffles.fm. It's pretty good. Not super deep but great for new chunes and some old stuff. Cosign on all the ratio rules though. I've got it well under control, but it's not for lack of nerdery on my part. I have lots of available invites, but I'm responsible for who I invite and their participation. If any serious people want invites, hit me up.

Favorite version of People Make the World Go Round
I ride for the Freddie Hubbard version. So soulful, jazzy, and amazing. I've been fuxing with Swan Lake by Blackalicious since it came out. What's that, 22 years now? Jeezeus.
