GJYes, I did thanks. Apparently the firewire series from M-Aduio has long been unsupported by them, much to the frustration of many users. There is an updated driver for el captain but not for high sierra. Some guy came up with a fix but it involves opening the terminal on your mac and changing code, which I can't be bothered with.
