I decided to resurrect this thread to see if anyone in Toronto figured out a good (ie: cost effective) solution to get mailers?? MMS still has the 1000 minimum order and that is not an option for me.
-
I spoke to MMS Direct three times and they are not doing them anymore - mainly because they are shutting down their vinyl press. It is not worth their time/resources etc. to sell record mailers unless they are in a large quantity and at a insane pri…

To me, Musical Structure, Genres, Styles are all assistance to the Expression of the musician. Melody, Harmony, Acoustics, Tones, Colors, Techniques can all be dissected with a good ear. A lot of my favorite musicians are uneducated or self-taught,…

Once you press anything longer than 4 minutes onto 45, the track has to be turned down during the laquer cutting or else the lathe will skip. For 12 inch singles I believe roughly 12 minutes is the point when it needs to be turned down.

Once again, you are a dweeb of immense proportions. Again, I never used my gun for anything but target practice. No one was ever harmed by me carrying a gun...not even close. But yeah, that makes me just as bad as a cop who unjustifiably kills …

I just remembered a funny request that I got a couple weeks back in Germany... I'm playing Roy Ayers - "Running Away" and the whole night I had been playing Jazz, latin, soul, funk , etc.. German dude comes up with tissue paper stuffed in his ear…
-
My new response to requests in clubs/bars is always 'No requests, sorry' or 'Sure, I'll get it on in a few songs' (then never play it). I recommend this approach. I don't even process the stupid shit people say anymore, because it doesn't matter. I …

I like to drink bourbon straight, no ice. Maker's is a decent bottle to start with, and if you're into it, get this one: Woodford reserve. Great stuff. Well I had the chance to try bourbon for the first time last night and Woodford is what …

I heard you get f**king soused off of bourbon. The 'drunks drink' if you will. I could be off base with that though.. maybe I should try a bottle one day.

One thing I always wanted to try was arranging them chronoalphabetically. That would be by year and alphabetically within each year, all within each genre. That seems a bit much, don't you think? I'd say a good method is to divide everyth…

it's a decent break but really not that useful... unless breakloops is your gameplan it won't do much good.

Matt told me about this...he dropped out of it, for a number of reasons, they werent doing enough historical wise and fact wise on the history (he told me I knew more about Chess than the filmakers) and since they wanted him to play Leonard, he said…
