I saw them live and they were great! Malcolm Catto on drums holding it down. The best way i could describe it would be "organised chaos". Really worth checking out live if you get the chance!

I found a copy about six years ago but didn't pick it up cause of the price (i think it was $16 or something). I knew that it was legendary and that show sampled it for that crazy guitar line on "represent" but listening through it i knew i wouldn't…

which ain't sayin much considering how bad italian pop is and the only light in the dark of the entire italian music scene being prog/library So true!

I like the Specials, i think their third album "In The Studio" is quite slept on. A real mish mash of styles, but in a good way.

I've only heard "Skin I'm In" and i would say it's a must for fans of early Funkadelic.

No dis to Kev but he seems like more of a nerd than a yobbo.

how do you know it was the roomate?

Is this a trap to lure little dudes? Milt Jackson "Olinga" if i had to choose a Freddie Hubbard i would say "Red Clay" over the ones mentioned already. A track i have only recently discovered is Nina Simone "Baltimore", love that.

First gig: Dire Straits "Brothers In Arms" tour Latest gig: free ticket to Gabriele Y Rodriegez (which was good for about 20mins)

This analysis is reductive at best and misinformed at worst, but I don't think SJ/Universal Sound simply thought, "Hey! Let's steal some music!" a la Radioactive Records. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong; I don't want to spread rumors. …

Okay. Fine. Soul Jazz is fine. Except when they bootlegged Black Jazz records... or were accused of it by the new owners!
-
Maybe passe to soul heads and crate diggers, but aren't Soul Jazz comps aimed at a more mainstream audience? For the less schooled, that's a heck of a comp, IMO. i agree.

He was!

Most people consider the Rites of Spring album on Dischord to be the first emo record/band. yes..... i was wondering if this would get a mention. i need to listen to it again, been a long time.
-
some of it is a little tired, but on the whole i thought it was better than expected. the jamaican patois made me cringe a bit.. i'll buy it i reckon.
-
This is a tricky one. Do you know how are they going to use the clip after you give approval?
-
Peace & respect Ultraman. Dark Sun Riders album was incredible IMO. Good luck with this project.

Saw a preview dvd of this last week. Even with the editing flaws which have been mentioned in this thread i thought it was worth it for all the old clash footage and stories. i love the bit where a guitarist who worked with strummer mentions that …

if the music is that good that you feel more people should hear it why not contact some labels that do quality reissues such as stones throw about it forgive me if that was just stating the obvious
