Q-Tip "Gettin' Up"

DocMcCoy said:The piece specifies that it's the remix, rather than the album version, that he's referring to. OOF yeah see it now. I thought I noticed the "Get Money" entry seemed to be about the remix version too (mentioning Biggie singing)…

I know we're talking memories from 21 years ago, but the story about Jingling Baby doesn't make much sense, since the original version appeared on Walking With A Panther.

batmon said:IIRC the new one had a smaller tracklisting than the OG. Something was omitted. The orignal tracklisting says "The Next Episode" but that song was never really on Doggystyle, and it was corrected on later printings.

Fratton79 said:G'z up, H**s Down, due to sample problems I believe. Funny thing is "Gz Up H--s Down" appears unaltered on a later Death Row compilation 15 Years, but never on later re-re-masters of Doggystyle.

So Pete Rock in Maui working on Kanye's album was really just signing off on second-hand samp clearance? Is this what Premier's contribution will sound like:

Just ran over my foot - That's why you got dropped.

I hate it too, that's why I just use Search. It will bring up everything by that artist, and play each album in order.

Sounds like Monkees drums on Cee Lo's song

I hate when they can't find it, then they re-list it, then can't find it again.

The_Non said:The Love Movement sounded like all their good records burned up in that fire. At the time I thought that was the reason for a more sparse (hollow) approach.

Try the freeware Audacity. Basic. Does the job. Can add fades and shit if you want. There is a way to add markers and then split the wave (into songs), which could be handy if you're recording an entire side of an LP.

It was fly how UBB presented the "hip hop tempo" of this record for the compilation.

I saw them each of them do a DJ set 4-5 years ago when neither of them were on Serato, now they're both on it! Would be nice to hear them DJ again; Co-sign on some North American tour dates.

Aw man, the 80s and 90s mixes were so tight. Are you updating the Rub podcast with this download? I see the direct link there, just wondering if the podcast is still in use.
