I've got the record but no info on it. I guess it came out before his first 12"?

That Soul Duo track is great, and new to me. These two always make me very happy: James Brown: "Let's Unite the World at Christmas" Sun Ra: "It's Christmas Time"

psyched to hear this! I really enjoyed the previous two.

I had high expectations for that one off of the cover but remember it being really lame.

The 45 on G.V. has a Lancaster, PA address but "Virtue Studios" is etched in the deadwax and the publishing company is "Pan-Vil", both of which suggest a Philly origin.
-
I always assumed they were different groups. I haven't heard the 45 on Phantom in a while but remember it sounding really blue-eyed.
-
I really love this one: J-Live: "Them That's Not"
-
My copy has the same label design but the label is navy. BTW, the group's name is (mis)spelled "Desciples of Soul" and the label is G.V.

The reunion show hasn't happened yet-- it starts in about 3 hours.

I miss Olden Style Hats.

He was so pivotal to the LA scene in the early 80s that it's hard to imagine west coast rap without him. It's also mind-boggling that back then he could fill coliseums with people who would come just to dance to records.
-
I don't tend to like music that's so blatantly retro but I've enjoyed just about everything I've heard from them. I hope the album gets a U.S. release. Currently it's only available on iTunes or as a way too-pricey import.

I've got an OG and it's that color or maybe slightly more blue. It doesn't have that deep ridge pressed into the label but otherwise looks more or less like that.

Oh and-- Cos, you want 2 CDs?
