Man, what a night! Huge turnout, great vibe, and the art looked great. Every single person that walked into the gallery was totally blown away and had a big old smile on their face. Couldn't have been any better. Mike had a ball signing autographs…

Nice, we're gonna have a good Soulstrut turnout!
-
Bring this to New York! Workin on it! If anyone has any ideas for venues please hollur. The tough part about showing the work is that galleries will want to sell the art, and we're not at that point just yet.

Not a find, but my brother's friend GAVE ME a VPI machine a couple of days ago. Hell yeah!
-
Cool, where'd you find those?
-
Those are some cool outfits, though.
-
Wow, that looks great! I'm going to try to find myself a copy right now, but if I don't have any luck I will definitely be in touch. Thanks.

None of this would have happened without Soulstrut. Real headz know the deal! [color:white]ps. it would be great if some of you could write up a quick review of the book on Amazon. I think they make a real difference.[/color]

I had this a while back. I didn't like it for some reason - it sounded too studio, kind of like it was a recent re-recording of the song. That was a while ago, though, so I could be totally wrong.

"Dust Yourself Off" is the shit (title track).

And Chuck was killin' it! I think he must be 70-something, but he was all over it. Dude looks real good.
-
Shamefully I saw Chuck for the first time a couple weeks ago. He sat in with Galactic and they did like a 20 minute go-go medley, started off with Woody's theme. Awesome. But somehow they didn't play Bustin' Loose.

If anyone has any idea who makes embroidered jackets like this, PLEASE let me know. Mingering Mike wants to make "Brother of The Dragon" jackets just like this.. I'm serious, by the way.

Will "Mike" be making an appearance at the opening, or does he prefer to remain behind the scenes? I'm sure he will be there, but he'll probably lurk in the background (which might not be too hard, because I think it's going to be packed)..

I've been holding on to everything, and ultimately we hope the collection will end up in a museum, at least for a while. Believe it or not Mike has never asked for the albums back - he prefers that I keep them so that others can enjoy them. On June…

I can't find it right now, but I have a sweet soul group 45 by The Eighth Generation (or something like that) on Perception.. Kind of sounds like Foster Sylvers.

Happy birthday homie!

Thanks.

Any MM autographed books going up on the site? Eventually, but probably not for a couple weeks at least. We have to iron out a few details before that and some other cool merchandise is all ready to go. (cool new website coming real soon, by the …

Man, I wish I could.. Dori, think about the fall show, second week in October. Get your publisher to fly you out and put you up. Actuallly I was asking Shureshot, who I assumed was Topstitch up in Seattle, if he was coming down. Different Suresho…

I've read mine cover to cover. Dori does a great job with the words. You really get a feel for who MM was/is, very intimate. Thanks Dan! Today was the first day that I walked into a bookstore (Barnes & Nobles) and saw the book on the shelf.. Ki…

Elton and Betty, people! ELTON AND BETTY!![/b] Elton and Betty White were a musical duo from Little Rock, Arkansas who charmed the hearts of all who would listen with their disarmingly honest and hilarious songs. Not only were they and their music…

My first ever concert was Huey Louis and The News! Most memorable was definitely Pink Floyd at RFK in 1987. It was my 13th birthday and my mom bought me 10 tickets so that I could bring my friends. And she got seats with her friend across the stadi…

Not strictly record related.. but check out Mingering Mike's new blog.

Dudes. I sat in on the set a few weeks ago, just for one short scene. So fucking cool. The sets are absolutely amazing. Wow. More soon.

A friend of mine is a staff writer for The Wire and they just gave him an episode of his own to write for next season.
