You could also get significant overdrive by really cranking the volume on almost any amp (I think this is how early Sabbath got their sound, though Tony Iommi did use pedals later), but how often are you in a place that you can put it on 11?

Tremolo and Reverb were available as amp effects in the 60s and maybe even the 50s, and i believe volume pedals were very early as well, though they were meant for organs. Most wah pedals are analog, Dante. The first fuzz pedal (1960) was created …

When I was at Penn State in the late mid nineties I had a friend who grew up clubbing in Florida, and when she came to school in PA and couldn't find anyone into house music she was like "I guess people here just don't like having fun". It definite…

I ended up returning the Nashville because I hate that vintage six bridge, and picked up a new Blackout Deluxe. It's very similar to the Nashville but it has a modern bridge and the middle pickup is a second Tele neck style. Plus I prefer the look:…

I try to never leave a record store empty-handed, even just to do my part to keep them afloat. You can always at least find some wedding jams.

Votes for Please (sing a simple song) and The Pieces of Peace (pass it on pt.2). Boscoe too. Afrika 70 gets points for the choreography. Kool & the Gang probably my favorite, with their schoolyard-style lines.

Thanks for that. Love the steps.

It will be branged.

I think it's cool, it's just not "releasing an album". This is called "publishing music" and happens everyday, just not with all the fancy packaging. I think it would be fun to make your own versions of these songs. I wonder how specific the ins…

One of the records that blew my mind and got me into collecting. I was driving over a bridge at night when I first heard the title track and that intro line was so heavy it almost made me veer off the bridge!

Near Mint Epiphone Les Paul Classic Transparent Black Quilt Top from Craigslist. Came with amp, strap, stand and cord all like new. My first solid-body guitar since the 90s. A real treat to play.
