  • you should have an unofficial referral program between nearby stores that cater to the other half's needs. Or maybe you should print a stack of superfuture maps and leave them by the bench.
  • jazzysport has a coffee bar built into their store. I think I'm the only dude that doesn't mind shoe shopping with a girl, as long as it's not espadrilles. I think womens shoes are a great design medium of pop culture. It's an excellent telltale si…
  • overall, not offensive but unmemorable to say the least. I am feeling pt 2 of trilogy w/ dwele, excellent production by him I assume. Yes I am a Dwele fan. I do not smell like cocoa butter lotion, I swear!
  • that's why you should always wait a few weeks before installing any os update. Let others be the guinea pigs.
  • "search" there has been on avg a thread on shanghai per month for this year.
  • whats your prize for waiting overnite for a cool phone? you get to go home and check your email/ make a phone call? same reason why record nerds wake up at 6am to hit a record show. it's irrational, one man's gold........

  • you might want to incorporate a class with a trip to an open market? Teach the kids to buy according to season. First it tastes better, secondly it's cheaper as produce doesn't have to be shipped across the world. Like right now, we're at the tail …
  • I used to be a music/design magazine whore, but now I'm down to one subscription, the new yorker. It's just too much clutter, a big waste of paper to be honest. I do miss my subscription to Saveur even though I never read it cover to cover. Swifty…
  • I dig some of it, alas I don't think SNC appeals to the Strutter crowd. tis a shame though, but I kinda saw it coming.
  • "Sunday" jazz. I'm cosigning this, even if it's very hard to remember the differences between each song. I enjoy falling asleep to it. I apologize for upping this thread, but the amel album is worth checking.
  • As much as I despise Wenger, he has an immaculate sense of timing for buying/selling players (Reyes an exception). He seems to know exactly when a player is heading towards a downward slope. Apparently, Arsenal was on the verge of selling him last o…
  • it was bound to happen, he has been looking for an excuse to bounce for a minute. Looks like another 4th spot for Arsenal next year.
  • fancy footwork is a good single, they also remixed Feist's cover of "See Line Woman", also likeable.

  • Maybe if you're a vegetarian you feel obliged to like this stuff, but outside of the gazillions of attractive women dressed in yoga clothes who eat there, I think it's a exceedingly lame. lies, you love lululemon, don't front. Well, I'll let dan …
  • she has two albums. last time I checked jill scott only has 2 studio albums and 1 live album.
  • dudes just be hattin cuz shes white and her music is popular... if she was a 50 yr old black chick and her record came out on Jazzman or something foolios who be hattin would probably be going ga ga goo goo over her skeletal, syphilitic ass Hey…
  • her first album did quite well in the UK, it was shortlisted for a mercury music prize. Just beacuse it wasn't big in America, doesn't mean it was a flop.
  • she on accordion, myself on my modified turntable, and my friend mike with a glove fitted w/ motion sensors that tweaked sounds + video. bitchin, moded power glove! this thread = definition of soulstrut. I heard this fronch lyrics version of Toto'…
  • Have you ever tried to correct the distortion that a wide angle lens gives in photoshop, or some such? yes, a lot of people post exact settings you can place into photoshop to correct distortion/barreling of "popular" lenses on the market. Not su…
  • I think Oliver is referencing Esca, one of Battali's various nyc restaurants. It is their signature dish. As with most things in the culinary game, it's mainly due to marketing. I haven't had the opportunity to dine there so I can't judge his crudo…
  • if low light is a concern to you, Canon tends to have a slight edge in ISO performance vs Nikon. Nikon is closing the gap with every release. I recommend the fuji f30/f31 for anyone looking for a simple p&s with great low light performance.
  • d40 works w/ "digital only" lenses. If you don't plan on using any old slr lenses, then the d40 is absolutely fine for you. I have a d80, no complaints about it at all, alas it is beyond your price range.
  • it's a perfect day outside, enjoy some patio action. I will hopefully see you soon for antoher meal this summer.
  • Dale surprised me, I am very impressed by the way he elevated his game the last few eps. Casey, as I had predicted, is the worst cook of the 3, which isn't a slight to say the least, but she did not deserve to win at all. She gets flustered too easi…

  • oops, I meant to type exec, sorry. also, another point about Howie. He needs to start cooking for the customer instead of himself. Just because you can eat 3 heavy dishes in a row doesn't mean the paying public will. Biggest mistake of most young c…

  • Tre is definitely more talented than Casey (kept around for bikini shots) and CJ. However, he deserved to go because he failed as sous. It's the risk he took assuming the position so he has to die by the sword. That bread pudding looked boring to s…

  • ok I finally watched it. You know Bourdain is taking dude out to Yakitori Totto. Overall, per usual, I wish they didn't skip over so many dish descriptions. Especially the quickfire challenge.

  • oh...and I never realized geoduck was pronounced gooey-duck. Or is that just a chef thing? no, that is the correct pronunciation. Guest judges I've enjoyed the most have been Bourdain obviously, also Eric Ripert.
