I usually don't pass on the following all for the giving to friends reason: Van Morrison - Period of Transition (Dr. John on guitar, a good $1-$2 pickup just for "Heavy Connection" imho) Hissing of Summer Lawns - Joni Mitchell (my favorite Joni Mi…

(bonus factoid: my wife used to work there and, because she can sew, was often given the duty of manufacturing little santa hats or leprechaun hats to go on the top of those goose tap handles at the holidays.) Haha that's what's up man. Good foo…

Hey man if you end up near Wrigley check out the Goose Island Brew pub. Beer is not bad, the food is really good. I suggest their crispy wings.

That's good info folks. There's a place next to my apartment that does WU (and my bank is right behind it) so this is all good info to have. I had two records go off last night, both to International bidders, one asked if Western Union was cool, the…

Cool man, thanks for the heads up. I am gonna read up on everything after work, but knew the strut would be a good quick reference.
-
for real man, that aint christian why would she say dude is a christian? It's pretty clear through his myspace quotes that he and God talk all the time. How else would he know about the aliens walking around and God changing his face?

I love the scene (maybe it's the youtube clip up there...i can't watch them at work) where he is playing and the producer is trying to get the session started. Great doc. I had a pretty late pass myself for it, saw it a couple summers back.
-
Cool. I'll try them again later in the day. Thanks man, out with the winter brews in the with the spring.
-
Are they still open? I thought they were closed/closing. Phone just rings and rings over there.

I have listened to, and own, a good number of Sun Ra records. I've seen the Space is the Place film, and have read interviews with him. I don't think his music is phony in the least, and I don't doubt he was sincerely compelled to play. But I find …

Haven't heard their new one, but i really like their stuff. "Shoes" is a good tune. They do a really good job of capturing their sound on record, which is cool because of all the different stuff they try.
-
Not that i talk a whole lot when i am sitting here at work, but, I'm speechless. That was...wow.

I remember holding the tape in my hands at Sam Goody. It was crazy back then because they would just have these walls of tapes. I didn't have a CD player for a long while, it was just tapes and a walkman. Walking in and just scanning through all the…

funkyexample...are you on waxidermy too? I was going to mention that there was someone over there that was speaking about Music Supervision in a thread a little while back, but what you are saying sounds similar. If not I'll try to search for a …

All hip hop (and r&b) from early/mid-90s - now. Cleaned out a local DJ who is getting ready to move cross country. He threw in two Vestax tables in flight cases. I've pulled some nice sealed stuff so far. Only been through about 3 or 400 so far …

I like that dude's attitude. I enjoy talking to him when i'm in there. I've pulled some good stuff out there in my 3 or 4 trips, jazz, Art Ensemble, etc. Anyone know if Rustic is still around? I was only in once, caught some stuff, but haven't b…

How much was the Honey & the Bees LP? $300? $600? Everything on that dude's table was on some, "I AM POPSIKE" business. Imagine being set up right next to the guy. I could probably give you his shtick verbatim. Whatever happened to that Sku…

Whoa..that is the track that's on right now. "la la la lalalala........" Many head nodders on this, congrats and thanks again go out to the dude: Karlophone

Just found clips of the 2 of the songs from there. Both sound a whole lot like Diary of a Madman.

You know what i liked though....that first Sunz of Man cassette maxi-single. Still have it in a shoe box full of stuff at my parents place. I haven't listened to it in probably 8 or 9 years now, wow. Didn't Wu-Tang tour with Rage Against Everythin…

Quick bump and mention that this is from 11 am - 5 pm. See you there.

The whole thing seemed pretty tongue-in-cheek to me. Maybe I'm not defensive enough of soulstrut. I kind of had the same reading on it. Seeing how he changed it from the original was what made me want to read on. Funny responses though, consideri…
