I like Rachmoninoff and Chopin and Liszt the best. Liszt is a big name here in Weimar. He lived and worked here for a long time. Also the music college (where I took 2 semesters of electro-acoustical music) is named after him.

OK, these guys weren't exactly from my hometown but they lived here for some time and started their career in an long gone institution called "Star-Club".

The title track from this album "Happy Just To Be Like I Am". Many songs from this album have the most positive vibe to them that I can think of.

You can't go wrong with Mancini and Michel Legrand. "The Happy Ending" OST has a lot of that sentimental-dramatic stringstuff. The Pink Panther OST has some of that too.
