I saw the movie a few months ago on a documentary movie festival in Munich and it was truely great from beginning to end. It was shot by the same team that did the original Zaire footage of "When We Where Kings". I remember something like "Soul Pow…

He was one of the best actors filling in supporting roles alongside Martin Landau. Can't remember I ever saw Malden in a leading role (in the movies at least) but whenever he appeared it uplifting the movie. I liked "Streets of San Franciso" too.

Monkfish or Sea Devil when translated directly from german. It looks ugly but is one of the most delicious. Very firm, white flesh that doesn't falls into pieces when you cook it (for a soup e.g.). Plus it not as greasy as Halibut or Salmon.

Bobby Thurston - Check Out The Groove I was just listening to the 45 and thought it had that Off The Wall Sound too. But was that enough reason to switch on my laptop again just to post it here? Probably not. I should go to sleep.

That breakdown at ca. 1:20 gives me shivers every time.

After a week of continious rain and grey skies sun has come out again. It's gonna be a great weekend out of town for me. Here is a summer mixtape I did in 2003 that still remains one of my favorite summer listens. It's not blended and is flipping l…

When it's getting really hot I listen a lot to late fifties Mambo and other latin stuff of that era. One of my favorite summer evening album is a selftitled spanish Roalndo La Serie LP. Also I like that slow mid-seventies jazzfunk like Gene Harris …

Thanks Spelunk.

I have to bump this because the first time a posted it, it might have come off a bit too cynical. When I heard on the news today how MJ was seeking to become unconscious with the help of strong narcotics to at least get some sleep the whole tragedy…

Not so great Merengue version by Se??or Coconut but for completions sake I add this.

Spanish funk band "Speak Low" covering "Thriller". This 45 is always with me when I'm out DJing but it will certainly get even more play in the coming time.

I saw this on my mail providers startpage when I wanted to turn off the computer yesterday night (after playing rummy and getting wasted for a few hours). After checking at a trustable news source I put on the P.Y.T. 45 loud and had a shot of strong…

The agglomeration of primary and secondary sexual characteristics oozing bodily fluids remind me of Funkadelic Coverartwork. For my taste it's heading to much in a 80s Haring/Rizzi lollipopness direction.

The first rap LP I ever bought. Can't find a video with "Session In Poetry" but that is my first pick from that album.

Special Ed - Ya Wish Ya Could 2nd II None Ft DJ Quik, AMG and Hi-C - Comin' Like This Two Kings In A Cypher "How You Figga?", "Kemit-Kal Reaction" and "Movin' On Em". I love that album and it's definitely not getting enough play. Jama…

Forss feat. Rich Medina - City Ports Not really hip hop more electronica with spoken word poetry on top but this is such a strong travelling song. Forss whole LP "Soulhack" is easily one of the greatest works in electronic music ever. Though it's …

Cosine on that "Pick Up The Pieces" comment, I can't stand it either because it's so played out. Many of their tracks are extremely boring in their funky mediocrity. But there are enough standout tracks not to underestimate AWB. I like to play out …
