Yeah I got one off of soulseek awhile ago that turned out to be from there. No offense but I like it way more than the Gilberto Gil one. Just the band psychin' out. chekkit: http://s63.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=37PSHN5HFG4SV2C7OC69PJ97QR

The funniest part about shopowners like this, is the fact that it's right there in the title: "Price Guide". Meaning its a rough starting point for you to then use your own brain and come up with a price yourself. They treat those damn books like…

James Chance fun-fact: Hated his early NYC audiences because they didn't dance as hard as the folks he knew back in his hometown of Milwaukee, WI.

I'm repping Sons and Daughters of Lite. Last time I was looking at that it was a multi-hundred dolla' private I'd never own. Glad to see it's been properly reished

I have live footage of James Brown circa 1969 in France. Its amazing. I dled it from some guy on Soulseek. There isn't much I wouldn't do to see JB's USO shows over in Vietnam. Mainly because Marva Whitney was looking fine during that trip.

I speak from experience when I say that vintage footage of local soul and funk acts is close to non-existent. One reason for this is due to the cost of television production I was even speaking more in terms of home-video style recordings, ya k…

Well, Bossa is kind of a laidback genre to begin with. Though I always liked Luiz Carlos Vinhas' version of Marcos Valle's "Batucada". Heavy flute, drums, and piano. You should be able to soulseek it. Or its available on his album umm... "NOVAS …

Come to think of it, it probably was a mistake to use Demon Fuzz as the first example, because people think of rare/rarer records differently. You could argue an OG Demon Fuzz is always a find. So, how about this, I pulled my copy of Curtis Mayfie…

seems fairly obvious to me that for most people posting in them, the "finds" threads are just whatever records you bought that day/week/weekend. I know there are people who get all bent out of shape and say "I don't wanna hear about your Aerosmith "…
-
I consider a "find" as a dope or raer record you stumbled across inadvertently. I.E. not seeking it out or at least not seeking it out at the place you happen to find it at. or at least had to do a little leg work to obtain.

Yeah it was the dad's shop. Tons of "funky soul" to look through, but I only had limited time and figured I can get that at home if I want it. So I hit the euro bins hard.

Hawkeye- I got most of the 45s at Edison's. Theres so much to look through there its crazy! It was a bit hard to dig for them, because the aisles were so small and everything is shoved underneath the LP racks. Those two LPs were from the big fle…

Oh you can't? :P Sometimes my host gets funny and blocks access to my files for an hour. Usually just after I post them somewhere public. Thats lame, now I look all stupid in my first post!

Now that's what I'm talkin'bout. ugnh!

Remigio Ducros: America Giovane I laid down for this obscuro Italian library cuz it had a couple of righteous funk tracks and a fairly bomb-ass cover. The funny part is I've played it like, twice
