yikes, that sound potentially harrowing... i'm dj'ing a wedding this weekend too. usually when people ask me to do a wedding they know what i'm all about from the radio show or whatever, but i still try to talk them out of it by telling them that j…

okay, cool! pleased to make your acquaintance, bellcity1. m

cain't do it, i'm afraid...you'll just have to use your imagination! hava nagila mexican-brass-band style...melody line played first on trumpet, then on billy's twangy low-end guitar...nice bouncy rhythm...got it?

if you want to get even wilder, try "hava tequila" by billy strange.

i've solved this problem in the past by standing the turntable feet on individual rolls of duct tape strung with thick rubber bands. isolates the whole thing, makes it less susceptible to vibrations being picked up from the surface it's sitting on.

seems to say above miss shingaling was banned...wondering why...new here...
-
what, pray tell, was miss shing-a-ling's infraction/transgression/crime/sin? if i'm stirring up painful memories, i humbly withdraw the question.

i use a 1,000-point grading system and express everything as a percentage. a perfect record (which doesn't exist outside the factory) is 1.000; the worst-condition record imaginable (maybe just a chip that remains from a smashed record?) is 0. most …

there's something beyond patronizing about a culture that slaughters another culture, takes its land, then sticks the survivors on reservations...and whose descendants and inheritors, years later, think it's perfectly okay???ennobling, even???to use…

i have a chinese-american male friend with long straight black hair, broad features, and a dark complexion. one time he got into a taxicab in new york and the driver, an indian from india, spun around and cried, "OH!!! you are RED indian!!!"

another co-sign on charlie rich. what a great, underappreciated performer. so sad i never got to see him before he died....the early rockabillyish stuff is good too, like "lonely weekends." and "midnight blues" is about the catchiest song ever...
