  • I am highly anticipating his album, but this track does not really work. The drums are way too loud considering the samples chosen for the melody. Sounds very late 90's big beat fatboy slim ish. Plus that astrud clearance can not be cheap, and it se…
  • Hey thanks for sharing the pics, Bevan. My family is from Taipei, but I've never been there myself. And for some reason, never really had the interest to go. Never thought there'd actually be records there either. I think it just got bumped up on th…
  • Two really wonderful tracks from Marc Mac's superfresh forthcoming release, It's Right To Be Civil. I think this is way better than A Game of Chess. It's got some great speeches and vocal samples on the subject of the civil rights movement. These tw…
  • I liked how Jon Stewart pointed out following the commercial break - Oscar Awards tally: Martin Scorsese-ZERO, Three-6 Mafia-ONE
  • On that note, I'm feelin' Count Bass D's forthcoming album title- Act Your Waist Size. Can't wait to hear that shit. Any other CBD fans out there?

  • Both Ed Harris and William Hurt had great performances in this one. Plus, Maria Bello was damn sexy in it. I think this is Cronenberg's best film in years. Definitely worth checking out.
  • album of the year *cosign on that* Count Bass and Edan both right up there for me. Elektro4's Keystroke One also got plenty of spins.
  • I think it's one of the better Wu related albums in a long time. Dready did a good job. Some of the gritty production takes me back. Plus, Gza and Rass Kass got good chemistry. I like Ras's line: "I hang with the trillest, that's why Five Percenters…
  • Oh don't stop there with dude...he'll come back with more and more hits. Peep the catalog: http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=camkaraoke
  • That Dereliks EP is definitely up there. The Bored Stiff "Explainin" joint, too. But they still don't top Melodica, methinks. Damn the Bay had it good for a minute.
  • Born and raised in the South Bay- San Josie...but working in OC for the summer. Streetlight/Big Als/Star Records (RIP) KZSU/KSCU/KSJS/KFJC you know the deal...

  • My first Keb Darge experience and dudes is right, he set the party off real hyphy-like. Just on the strength of his records he rocked it, wasn't even mixing really. I got close enough to peek at his treasured leather record case and more than half o…
  • Blackalicious got soul. Granted, most people seem to agree that Melodica is their best effort, I still think 'Nia', 'A2G', and 'Blazing' are solid ep/albums. This is coming from a biased fan of Chief Xcel, though. I think he's quite underrated. The …
  • Yo good lookin' out with the mix and playlist! Pretty thorough material right thurr.
  • Word up. The production on that Amerie remix track you're hearing is by the Nujabes from Japan. Someone out there just took the instrumental and put it over Amerie's acappela. The original instrumental is entitled "Aruarian Dance" and is off their D…
  • Yo Cire, Thats the new 12" from Sound In Color. Romanowski from SF produced it. Was just at the SIC lab today and they was bumpin it. Straight heat for sure. It'll hit the clubs big this summer. Hope that helps. Peace
  • Yeah KKJZ or "K-Jazz" usually plays great stuff in the evenings. Check out their live playlists and archived ones, too. That station puts me on to a lot of funky jazz. The mellow Bobby Hutcherson steez as well. http://www.kkjz.org/ or jazzandblues…
  • I hope so. Chauncey for repeat MVP.
  • The new Beauty and the Beat LP is by far Edan's best work. Probably my favourite hip hop album for 2005 so far. There is a really dope Cut Chemist remix of "Torture Chamber" that is around on CD-R and will be released as the next 12". The remix has …
  • Buy the so-called "Holy Bible of Hip Hop" aka Sample FAQ book and read Scratch Magazine. Sike. Actually, that's something I've thought about. I think you can try turning them onto certain types of music by playing it to them or showing them resour…
  • Somewhat of a bible to me. My favourite is the "On Childhood" one. http://kjkolb.tripod.com/homepage/miketysonquotes.html
  • Jay Z (Memphis Bleek) - "Dear Summer" does gets the backyard nodding. Cosign. Just Blaze does it again.
  • I think Suns vs. Heat would be the most fun to watch just because they got more exciting style of play, and of course, people wants to see Shaq and "Flash" do his thing on the big stage. Too bad it's pretty clear right now that we'll be watching a…
