i also think Steve Shelley could be one of my favorite rock drummers p.s. can I say it? can I say it? Richard Edson was the OG drummer!

I absolutely love them and most of their output (except Jet set and NYC ghosts). Really? I liked Jet set. Bull in the heather?
-
This is the forst SY record I got into since Washing Machine (another gem...). I love it- reminds me of the "song-y" songs on Daydream.

what about listing some nice Price Paul productions that are not so talked about but still nice:

new prince paul/ bernie worrel project ft. David Byrne. http://www.stereogum.com/archives/mp3/new-baby-elephant-feat-david-byrne-how-does-the-br.html sounds cool on paper....but I dunno?
-
The Rise and Fall of the Dix is Here Comes the DIX! was that good? that's my hole in the prince paul discography.

I listen to Buhloone Mindstate and De La Soul Is Dead constantly. The rest, not so much... but his humor is totally lost from De La's subsequent work... I mean where is shit like I gotta agree. As soon as he left they became the grumpy old men of hi…

I celebrate his entire catalog (except "Politics of the Business" ...didn't work). One of his true masterpieces is : Alot of people hate- but the production is truly amazing... he did the whole album? I thought he was just kinda involved. …

And a video from one of his recent performances in the UK, a nice version of "If You Want Me To Stay": he sounds great! but what's up with his posture? is sly in his 70's now?

I know we've had this discussion before. I'm sorry but it's just better. Waaaaaay cleaner/more user friendly interface. OK so you can't personalize the page to the same extent, e.g. allover Yves St Laurent print background with flashing bling lig…

Interesting dude. I always liked his beats. http://www.unkut.com/2007/08/t-ray-the-unkut-interview-part-1/ http://www.unkut.com/2007/08/t-ray-the-unkut-interview-part-2/ Remind me: wasn't there someone else you interviewed that had nothing but st…

[quote Two Mos Def cameos? Plus a requisite Chris Martin nod? yeah what's with that? THis years John Mayer/ Gwen Stefani? Remember K-ci and Jojo and Mary J did all the hooks in hip-hop? I'm not so sure this is progress? What's up with Blue Rasbe…

I can't really say it's aged well, but I am feeling this a lot more now than when I first heard it. I always thought it was so boring, but now I just love it. yeah when this came out i ignored it because the cover was so corny.then my girl -who's…

This record has aged very well - I think I like it more now than when it dropped, and I was plenty into it then. Copped a copy for the shop recently and ended up taking it home, after listening to it over and over again. Da King & I - Contempor…

And Edith is right, Pavement copped almost their entire schtick from the Fall. Right down to covers and everything. ...and they dont deny it either. But I discovered The Fall through Pavement, and maybe because of that I find Pavement more...pal…

Seeing deluxe double CD super remasterd anniversary edition of Slanted & Enchanted at Tower a few years ago was a defining "I'm not young anymore" moment for me. i acctually have that on cassette...
-
Slanted and Enchanted just may be the best, most complete album from that whole indie period, BUT... Nothing is fucking with Bleach when it comes to that rawness...that in the end is much more important than cleverness. I'm a huge Pavement fan- bu…
-
Pavement was influenced heavily by The Fall. seriously, listen to Grotesque and then check out Slanted and Enchanted I agree- but i'd still rather listen to Slanted!

File under: hasn't aged well.
