  • A cursory search through the SoulStrut archives will reveal some of his many sins. Run. Run while you have a soul. Start by asking Eddie Bo what he thinks of Fucks. Then review the Impeach the President scam and you're off to a running start.

  • Yeah, this seems really sudden. BTB should have the final word. What is it?
  • This might be him, and it certainly looks like him, but on that Washington Square Singers LP, which is seemingly around that same time, he goes by Alexander "Sandy" Bull.
  • If you look back on the posts, you'll understand that the aggressiveness began with your post. You got on here, accusing people of not doing their homework, of slinging shit. In every post I made it clear I wasn't accusing Jazzman of being a bootle…
  • Hi Kevin. Hit me on my email. Rob in Chicago

  • Hey Franklin. Much has been said to defend Soul Jazz in this forum. I don't really see the need to be so aggressive, but thanks for the anecdote and the Franklin avatar.
  • After years of talking with artists and label owners, I think we're actually talking about many different levels of legitimacy here. There are obviously straight-up bootleggers: You know who they are. Low-rider comps, breaks n' beats, Soul Patrol, …
  • oh yeah, and to actually contribute to the thread Marc Bolan & T.Rex: Baby Strange (Beat Club, 1971) http://youtube.com/watch?v=w9Hv6y-wCE4&search="beat%20club" This is pretty fucking cool. I'd like to see more shit from this TV show.
  • http://www.youtube.com/?v=HfGiFPWFxzI This performance is monstrous, too. Seeing the ensemble with Lee Underwood is a rare treat.
  • hey man i got a lot of records and shit and i like this mortal coil. and i aint no novice idiot. i happen to like tim buckley too. Look, this isn't about insulting dudes that like This Mortal Coil. I'm not calling anyone a novice, especially not …
  • Hate music? I thought you were talking about This Mortal Coil. There's dudes rioting and killing in Pakistan over a cartoon. You're not only comparing unbridled genius with some wishy-washy proto-trip-hop, but saying the latter is superior? That's …
  • This Mortal Coil tops Buckley, in his prime no less? Where are you getting this crack cocaine? Mentioning them in the same paragraph is some kind of blasphemy, to begin with. Fuck that bullshit, tryin' to talk about some 1980s garbage topping Buckle…
  • That Tim Buckley clip is heavy. It's interesting to, because it has the lyrical variation "I'm as puzzled as the oyster" instead of the way it was recorded on Starsailor "I'm as puzzled as the newborn."
  • http://www.aumfidelity.com/casequarter.html I think it's actually on CaseQuarter. I think Crypt did the vinyl in Europe or something. Check the sound samples at the link above.
  • "Turn It Over" as in "turn over a police car" or something. So Dante was yanking our collective frank, then, when he said that said tune was about, and I quote, "hitting it from the back"? Was 'Te just projecting? Fuck, I can't understand the lyri…
  • Chuckie Thurmond "Turn It Over" (Thurmoe-Blast) Recorded live at the Watts riots or something. Not to sound greedy, but does anyone have full audio of this tune? Whenever these ne-plus-ultra-funk-record discussions rear their (real) heads, Chucky--k…
  • Chuckie Thurmond "Turn It Over" (Thurmoe-Blast) Recorded live at the Watts riots or something. Li'l Tiger "Funky Fight" (Geodol) Vocals recorded during a golden gloves bout, which Tiger unsurprisingly dominated.
  • Studio 10 (private?) Studio 10 was a small indie, not private... I've got some halfassed garage LP on the label... There are at least three LPs on Studio 10: Karl Richey (Dylan-inspired folk), Day Blindness, and Leon's Creation. It was an indie ru…

  • burning some Free Design for her now...how about some suggestions? She is pretty open minded(no metal though) Perhacs.
  • BeardedD knows everything about this record.
  • Does anyone have the James Brown performance on Letterman in the early-1980s? I desperately need a dub of this. PM me if possible.
  • peace Suncut was owned and managed by Arnold Albury, so is "related" in the sense that Albury did some work for Henry Stone. However, it is not related in terms of ownership.
  • Keep an eye on eBay seller recordmonger. He had a grip of 'em at one point. Perhaps even try to pm him on eBay, he's a really nice guy. Not saying he'll necessarily sell one or even have one. I finally emailed you shots of that first Daniel Hecht …

  • "More Than Human" kills it. Also, listen carefully, towards the end of "Din Dee" the singer (I think it was Maria Booker, but it's from memory) bursts into tears. However, one of the worst LP covers in my collection.
