Thanks for the input. As for sound, she is currently recording some performances in a local studio. We are thinking mixed performance with some sort of visual montage, text or whatever else. The mastered studio track would be the audio. Anybody …

Yall sound like a bunch of Top Chef newbies. You have to realize the arc of the Top Chef covenant. To Wit: SEASON ONE: Learning to fly. Concept and execution are done well outta the gate, but the contestant pool is lacking. Hostess is gawdaful.…

O.k., thanks jinx. I was under the assumption that it was quite rare. As for quality, yeah, I never have really understood why it was so wanted. I personally think that almost all of the other known BR pieces, like the Sisters&Brothers, Tabby Th…

The RCU is a double. I definently enjoy it, and it has been in my crates for years. I was just asking who else knows/enjoys these records. I'm not looking for a cash cow.

ADDITION: RCU- S/T EP- 3 tracks/Inst. -RoeCityRecords, Monroe, LA(???) -Now this one sounds "random" enough, samples/808, 1989. Anyone?

Detroit, huh? The Ameer Stein was the only record in the stack I bought that wasn't specifically labled from TX or LA. As for the others, I'm just gonna slap em up on the bay with a $2 starting price and close my eyes tightly. I will be rippping m…

My understanding of the term originally was pre-1990 non-electro sample-based hip-hop on small or private labels. Well, then these definently arent "random", with the exception of the OkeyDoke 12. Most of these are quite electro-centric.

Alright, thanks. Upon further reflection, I have seemed to convince MYSELF that the "breaks are good", and sheesh, when will I ever see these joints again? Moog Bulletz 4 Daaaaayyyyyzzzzzzz

Gotcha. As I said, I have sampled what I wanted, and am ready for them to move on. Anybody wanna trade or sumphin?

Wow. Good looking out on the info (Shing too), this forum just plain rules for getting Knowledge Dropped upon my lil' dude head. Anyway, mine have no commercial intros, they are all just music beds. Like I said, one of em has a really nice funk t…

Yeah, I just found that link too. Funny. However, I was just listening to #3812, and found a short track that is full on dusty-fingers style goodness. So, if you want to call up dude,

Anyone?

Alright, Check it out. I just hooked up with the owners of The Funky Butt on Rampart Street, a club of some renown here in NOLA, and Vinylstalker, aka DJ Butterfingers, will be the new resident DJ when they reopen in July!! So, all systems are GO …

Well, I'm not sure "rise again" is too accurate (Its still sinking at some unfathomable rate.) The main thing that is really different around here is the lack of local color (read: no 'mo black folk) and that is what made the city such a chocolatel…

Sounds good hommie, although it may be a bit early for me to get anything set up. I have dreams of a multi-city, real-time webcast DJ gig featuring an all 'Nawlins artist set, with proceeds going to a local church here doing rebuilding in the lower…

When I first started digging in the early '90's, I used to come up on 12" singles with the logo "NATE THE BARTENDER" written on the sleeves or label in big black marker. Many years later, I mat my main man Nate through a hookup at the local wax sp…

Not just a Canada 12". Mine is U.S. Pretty RAER too.

Start checking the 'bay in about 10 months.......

That LP is a comp of Pacific Jazz stuff from early-to-mid-60's. Light Jazz Snooze. Great cover, tho.

Sure, get the digits if they are willing to give em out. However, this can result in a wallet bulging with little scraps of paper with a phone number and "records" scrawled on it that you can't read 'cause you forgot about it and the ink got all smu…

Dear Flea Market off of I-12, It's been a while since we spoke, and I hope there are no hard feelings. I tried very hard to find your daddy, the guy with all of the 12" singles. I even went to your office and got on the intercom, trying to page hi…

Finally, someone is hyping up KIMBO. This was one of my first KIMBO scores. Extra-dope record, at least 3 hot tracks. While not a real value, I sold that record along with "Rhythm Band Time" and "Sittercize"(Kimbo) as a "Kiddiefunkbreakbeatraer" …

I don't have it in front of me, but at home I have a LP from a BR,LA "Special Education" school cut in 1980, on the Touchdown label. Besides such head-turners as Rock Creek Park, they do a cover of Hollywood Swinging. Now, this is a bit of an un-P…

That one goes for a little more. Maybe $30-40 on a good day.

Mine went for $15.

Certainly electro has a limited visibility in the mainstream. But in the clubs, has electro ever really fallen out of favor? HELL NAW!! For me, electro(Bass Music, really), is always the go-to genre when things aint poppin' on the dancefloor. Euro'…

Yes to all this right chea: Mixed it into Smokey Johnson at a Mardi Gras ball this year, and all the 30-sumpthin upwardly- mobile, downtown-dwellin' white folkkks EXPLODED. Miami Bass never died around here. Geaux West Bank! Geaux! (Boom)…

Come on.... Shake-Shake it... Come on- Come on Shake-Shake it" I smoked a doobie with Shy-D in the Skyywalker Studio parking lot. Mike Fresh rolled it. The real title of this thread should read "Will bass music blow up IN NEW YORK just like crunk…
