Anybody know where Hypnagogic Pop came from? I'm guessing either the main artists, or The Wire. Also, is Based considered a genre yet?

I didn't know the Syleena Johnson singing on "All falls down" is Syl's daughter. That makes this even more perplexing. Kanye may have been under the impression it was cleared, but still...

MDejean is another danish strutter you can get in touch with. Nice guy (Hi M*rtin!). My favourite cafe in Copenhagen is Banker??t, on Norreport. Great food and lovely surreal decor with stuffed exotic animals dressed up in biker gear and a gi…

I use an mpc1000 but I'm not very technical with it. But yes - it's infinitely better. Don't hesitate, just make the switch. (Disclaimer: maybe they've improved the akai system drastically over the last updates. I doubt it though.)

I really like this album so far, but feel like I need more listens to really digest. I saw Kanye live this saturday and it really becomes clear how his ego is both his greatest strength and weakness. Sometimes he'd go into three minute autotu…

Saw them live this friday night, really good. Only caught half the set but great vocals, and a lot of live playing/processing. I'll check the album out on the strength of that. The Zomby album is great too - it has that Donuts-type feel where…

My favourite thing about "Revolution" is John not having decided whether he was for or against violence when they put out the album version - hence the "Don't you know that you can count me OUT... IN" part. When the single version came out, he had m…

Nice, thanks for the tip. What always intrigued me about East of Underground - the cover. You'd think an army band wouldn't be allowed to have one of the most righteous-yet-tripped-out covers EVER. Did they even know about the album/cover? I …

Yeah, that's an impressive list. Frontin' is still so awesome. I wish Pharrell would have tried that route more, basically making modern radio pop that still has that Prince quality, rather than "Can I have it like that". Glad to be reminded of t…

It basically has to be either a solid album or contain a killer song I can't live without. I'm down to a 4 X 4 Expedit and I intend to keep it that way - ( + a couple of crates in the attic). If you sell 10 records and end up buying 1 of them…
