It actually is pretty weak what they are doing. The 'lowering' of listing fees is an attempt to justify their higher final value fees they decided upon. They are going to make more money from people now , even though they are "lowering" the listing…

Having kids is awesome right now because I get to relive all these books I grew up on. Here are some of my faves: Every single one of those was on my shelf as a kid. I totally forgot about "Why Mosquitos Buzz in Peoples'…

I do enjoy me some Kenny Rankin[/b]. Eartheart is my shit. Do we really need $24 Japaneese paper sleeve editions of common $1 staples?
-
whats not to like? Even non-producer/gearheads would do well to check the great interviews just from a music history perspective.

There are just so many better hip-hop records to be had. Some dudes already have those records, though. What they don't have is the Sparrow record.
-
I'm glad a few of the mid-90s Baltimore records are getting some shine. The city deserves it after being thoroughly ignored by the hip hop world in it's prime. Plus they're relatively easy for me to grip and flip.

I'll school anyone in Scrabble over facebook: dan zacks uh... by "school" did you mean delete our game as soon as I pulled ahead with a bingo? ... cuz it looks like that's what happened. Damn.

I read this more than ten years ago, so I don't know how it would hold up for me today, but a lot of the the author's arguments have stuck with me over the years, particularly with regard to immigration/cultural assimilation. Description from Ama…

"Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" deserves some kind of honor for being the only movie I walked out of this year Why did you walk out? I couldn't take it seriously and wasn't particularly enjoying not taking it seriously. On the plus side, it …

Charlie Bartlett yep. Worst of the year. "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" deserves some kind of honor for being the only movie I walked out of this year, but I'm sure I could come up with a handful of movies that deserved a walk-out mor…

Wayne Henderson's production is excellent, although I think his work with Side Effect is my favorite from him, so it sounds like you're already on your way.

I'm guessing the follow-up with turtle boy was the lead story on that news show that night.

Some people want there to be a rapper that meets their "good guy"/"someone you can relate to" criteria so bad, they forget that the best criteria to judge a rapper by is if they actually are able to rap. ^^^^ = TRUTH.

I actually have been downgrading a lot of records via ebay as much as I have been upgrading. Especially with 12"s, I really don't need a perfect looking copy of everything as long as what I've got sounds fine. Plus it's just easier to sell a clean…

are these guys good? I have "Pawn Hearts" and "Godbluff" and neither album gets any play except when I'm trying to slim down my collection. I give them a listen and something compels me to hang on to them, but I'll still never listen to them.

This doesn't open in Bmore until next Friday, but I'm excited for it. I know people are very divided on Punch-Drunk Love, but I loved it. I saw that film as Anderson finally finding his own voice after a series of promising but flawed films in which…

b) for someone who really likes the track JAILBREAK (ya i know... limited Think Lizzy knowledge but whatever) for its performance as well as the amazing production job, what LP should i start with to get some more good music by the band? You've go…

Well, I bought Thin Lizzy's "Cowboy Song" from iTunes, and I am now listening to the thing for the second time in a row, that's how much I love this tune... Yes, Cowboy song is my all-time favorite of theirs.
-
Hmmm...not familiar. There is a good song called "Cash Money" on this LP from the same time period:

Gotta love that Roger Dean cover art too...

I haven't even scratched the surface of this great label. So many interesting records to peep.

20 years? He was 14 in 1988... Earliest shit I ever saw by him was a 12" from 1993, I believe, on some DJ Mannie Fresh shit. I saw it at a record convention but I let this other dude get it because it just looked corny. I always wondered what it…

20 years? He was 14 in 1988. Yup. Doing his thing. "Freddie's Back" came out in '87. And I think the first full length was out by '89.

the post victory commenarry on CNN is lulz. They keep trying to pigeon hole dude as some GREAT BLACK HOPE. Dude won because he??s a better canidate that actually avoids the race card. Thats wack. They are trying to marginalize him the way they did …

Yeah, it's gonna be hard for him to compete with his own material:

I forgot what the street meaning for T.r.o.o.p. T[/b]o R[/b]ule O[/b]ver O[/b]ppressed P[/b]eople One of the best/stupidest rumours ever.

I'm partial to Busy Bee repping Converse. Also, MC Shan perpetuating the KKK rumor regarding Troops is pretty classic.

I'm pretty much down with any pickled vegetable.
