I should say, that depends how you define/identify "social" But you can go through life not hearing them often at all, if you so choose

Yeah of course. Mostly with old people and social outcasts.

all I'm saying is that the financial industry is not the only thing driving rents in this city. student loans are absolutely a good point, but the kids coming to New York City to attend college at exorbitant tuition rates are absolutely part of the …

Where in Harlem are you moving? Do they still shoot guns in Williamsburg? I mean, non-ironically, like without the aid of a musket or blunderbuss, vintage gunpowder and salvaged wooden barrels?

doble it's an easy strawman to blame it on the financial industry. Wall Street has been here. That's not the reason for lacking creativity. Look at any area of commerce in NYC (including the "cool" ones like mine!) and I guarantee you, weak s…

The "creatives" class in this city is rife with poseurs and people high with raw, social climbing ambition but terribly short on interesting or compelling ideas. I don't know who to blame for that but their fuckshit parents and peers.

Man I almost did take it back to kinkos days when I saw the turnaround time on some of the tape quotes.

Sheisty Barb..... LOL.

not sure if you're being serious but I actually agonized over the title, I didn't think people would get it or worse, would think I was being exploitative. it was the working title of my files for the duration of putting together the mix. I d…

To BATMON's point. Something like "Expansions" is common fare out here. Heard on the radio any classics mix show, I fucking heard it at the farmers market last weekend (granted, in Harlem). My choice was based on the record being goddamn rar…

as far as I understand it, if you are dead set against the idea of purchasing insurance, the fine is something like $100 per year and it comes out of your tax return. ETA: I guess it is $95 or 1% of your annual income, whichever is greater.

I was able to load the thing I wanted from the original disk. I bounced it and shut it down. Buying a SCSI hard drive now, hopefully can keep it going long enough to copy over.
-
Another formatted disk loads up ok. Worried about inserting the other disk though. It's got most of the info and if it craps further, I would lose important stuff.
-
I inserted a blank and it seemed to read it. I'm scared to try anything else.

I have the Ren, after being offered an opportunity to pick one up on a wholesale deal thru a friend. To be honest, i never really have used the MPC in the past (2000, 3000, etc) so I dont have much to compare it to (I always used an ASR10 as my out…
