I think labels make more money from cds than wax, someone who is in the industry want to confirm this? You're right. But Serato DJs won't buy CDs. untrue.

djs are a major part of hip-hop, but nobody has explained why djs need to spin vinyl in order to keep hip-hop alive... I'm not sure if you are just playing devil's advocate or if you don't understand. I'll try to phrase that as simple as possibl…

How will you break a new act ? I can't think of any hip hop artist who didn't start with a 12". its a new day homie saying. most artists break through as a result of mixtapes now.

Dizzy, you can do it in two steps: Ghostface was on Busta Rhymes's "The Heist" Busta Rhymes was on the "Laffy Taffy" Remix CHeck this out. Ghostface has beats done by Doom. Doom was in KMD. KMD had a verse on The Gas Face. The Gas Face was …

yup. listen to cosmo. real talk. you just gotta keep it simple, don't try anything crazy and make sure you have good monitors (you will). it really isn't stressful. you don't have to make anyone dance.

That guy is intense. He interviewed me when I was in Sweden and he knew all this stuff about me that most people wouldn't take the time to research. The interview was an hour and a half long and he recorded it on reel to reel tape (on a portable m…

I don't know, I haven't F'ed with Serato 1.5 beta, I just use a good external soundcard to record into my desktop. How do you record your mixtapes? I would suggest highly that you begin fucking with it. The shit is the best Serato build ever. Loop…

yeah I think any stock soundcard isn't a great look for recording. Brian is the dude I usually defer to on computer issues. you can always get an MBox but that might be a little more than what you need.

definitely digitize what you use, but i also digitize alot of my rarer tunes as well, that way i can play around with them on serato and not risk unneccesary damage on the originials. Getting into Serato, if I were you I would do the following:…

Young Jeezy was the best album of 2005 for me because it is the one I listened to and still listen to the most. A lot of this thread has been about comparing Let's Get It: Thug Motivation to other albums or talking about who likes it (blacks, white…
